Playback of a file should be fine. The downside to these cards is that they don't do much for accelerating encoding/decoding of video. They're too old to have support for newer codecs, etc. So if your software has to do any conversion of the format, it will need to do it on the CPU instead. As long as the CPU is reasonably OK, you shouldn't have a problem.
