Your 2008 Gateway 4510-05 machine is years newer then what we have. Ours was also a Gateway bought in 2004 business class. Used in a network for Microsoft Office Professional. Custom built with a 60 gig Western Digital 10,000 RPM boot drive It also had a second drive but had to be upgraded years later as it started to act like it was failing. Took the computer in to Best Buy and had the tech guys mirror my old drive to a new 320 gig drive. This new graphics card worked just fine in it too. If it not, I could have returned it to get a refund. But it really works good. Hope this helps. Kevin, Hot Springs, Arkansas
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This would be an 11 year old machine may be time to upgrade. The system should have shipped with Windows XP as the OS. Microsoft no longer supports Windows XP. So security risks. depends on what you want to do with the system IE use it as music / Media storage then you may want your card. if your computer has a pci express 16x video card slot then this will go in fine the card does say it supports windows xp and above. (most desktop pc's do) If you want a card that will let you use two / three monitors or hook up hdmi to tv then it will be fine. If you want to do gaming on it the card will be lacking however the 2008 computer will probably be more of a bottleneck then the GT710 card All in all save the $60 and put it towards a new pc. if you want a portable one go Microsoft surface, If you want a little more power a hp spectra x360 laptop (supports external video cards thru thunderbolt3) or go full desktop if you want to upgrade system at a later date so it lasts longer.
