• Yes it does. But you need to be wearing the chest strap for it to be able to do that.

• Yes, and you have the option to view other data on other screens at the press of a button. On some recorded sessions, the HR is the largest number shown on the screen. If you are riding a bike, then you can view speed and distance as well. Of if running, you can see minutes per mile/km. You can view lap times in real time.
