The M400 does not have any swimming specific metrics. Our V800 however, which is designed for the multisport athlete, does. In addition to tracking one's heart rate and estimating calorie burn, it also recognizes the swimming stroke, the number of laps (if swimming in a pool) as well as your pace and distance. - Mike @ Polar USA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Bluetooth technology for me did not work underwater with this watch or with Garmin. I returned this one and got the A360. It works underwater and gives you calories burned and time worked out. It does not give you any kind of distance though and it doesn't have GPS like the M400.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven't worn it for swimming, but it says you can wear both the heart rate strap and watch while swimming so, its going to give you the same data as if you were working out on land. I have warn the watch in the shower several times and I'm pleased to report, no damage!
