Any pop socket will work but not good pick for mount.

I think this would work good with the otterbox cases that have the popsocket built in.

I am able to use the mount without the PopSocket being fully extended, so I think it would work fine with a more bulky case like the otterbox!

Yes it should work fine. The popsocket just needs to be extended out for it to hold properly.
