Well, I bought this as a gift and personally haven't tested it out. I know my pro controller can, which this is a step down version but should still have all the basic features. I'm fairly sure if it's paired it'll take it out of sleep; but fully turning it on I can't say for sure. My apologies. I'll update this reply later with a complete answer
