The case is semi hard- i would guess there is a thing piece of hard plastic within the lining, I feel as if i can drop the case and everything will be ok inside but it will not withstand being stepped on by an adult. I hope this helps with your question

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This does come with a hard case. The Switch fits into it snuggly, but not too tightly packed in. It's just snug enough that it won't have room to move around inside the case. There's also a strap down the middle that holds it in to prevent you from dropping it when taking it out of the case. Just remember to turn the Switch off or put it in sleep mode before putting it in the case. Also, the case does not include a compartment to store game cartridges in.
