can this be used on wii u cosole? null

I have zero confidence. Nintendo isn't updating firmware for Wii U. If the package says it will work on Wii U, then yes. I see no mention. Just like PS4 controller won't work on previous Playstations.

I looked at the wii-u controller on line and it has a USB plug just like mine. So I would say it should work

I am not sure about that. Guess it depends if there is a place for a usb because that is what the controller has.
