The PS4 version currently available for digital download on the Playstation store is sitting at 29.9 GB. I don't believe it should take 8 hours maybe your friend has a slow'ish internet connection? Also you should note that while the game file is 29.9 GB you will most likely need more space than that to install the game.

Plus it depends if you're downloading game from PSN or not. Digital downloads do take a long time. So I recommend getting disc based game. I'm guessing it no more than 20 minutes for my game to download
