is the controller skin for online purchases only? null

The store I went to stated they were all out but would have gladly have honored the "free gift" if they had any left in back.

It's possible. The salesman at the store did not know about this promotion and would not give me a substitute skin, as they didn't have any in stock. Bummer.

I am not sure but i havent seen skins in any store..

Reaching out to your local Best Buy store would be the best option to find out if any online promotions you see will also be available in that store.
