Hi Chuck, all treadmills that I'm familiar with have some sort of assembly that is required. It's just not efficient to ship treadmills in a large box either domestically or imported. Basically you are bolting the uprights that hold the console on the base. Some are designed so the legs fold up and you bolt with like 8 bolts total and others are more extensive. I would suggest you visit www.iconservice.com and enter model PFTL15118 and search for the manual to see what is involved in the assembly process.
