No, it won’t help stop your neighbors from hearing you or stop toxic drug use. However, it may help you relax by providing a calming light. The speaker isn’t that great but does go pretty loud. If you are able to focus on the sounds it provides, you may find some relaxation.

It's better to get one you plug in or can charge (or both). I'm sure the reference to odor was more of a complaint because white noise can't address the issue. For that, I recommend oils and a diffuser.
