I dont think so. If the drone hit hard enough to crack the arm it probably would have happened even with the guards on. But your props might still be ok. The guards are more about protecting the things y(ou bounce in to and limiting damage to the propellers than anything else.

I bought it because I am a dron beginner and I might crash it sooner or later. But again, is not guaranteed like you said.
