“I have a Pioneer vsx1123 amplifier that does not have a "phono" jack on the back to play the sound from a turntable. Is this pre-amp all I need to make the connection and proper sound?”

• The pre-amp works well with my turntable and receiver. It is connected with RCA plug cables between the turntable and an alt input on the receiver.

• Yes this preamp is what you need. It brings the phono level signal up to a level needed for the aux or line in connection. Don't forget to connect the turntable ground to the preamp chassis. without the ground, you could hear a hum or buzz. Happy listening
