• Per product definition page, it comes with 2 free IP cam licenses and all qnap come with surveilance station. Some higher end models come with higher count of IP cam licenses

• Yes, I use surveillance station on my unit. As you noted, you are limited to 2 cameras for free, and it's pricey to add additional cameras.
