Your saved reports should transfer, however, if you are moving from a higher version of Quicken, such as Premier or Deluxe, to Starter, then you may lose access to some accounts, such as investment accounts, and any reports that use these accounts may not work properly.

Keep in mind that during the install of the new Quicken, it normally uninstalls previous versions while saving a copy of your data file in the previous version format. So you have to have a pc/laptop with the old version running if you want to be sure that your reports survive. Most folks simply print out a hard copy of the old reports to keep for reference and then proceed with the upgrade/conversion. The default categories that come with Quicken will be there.
