“Does the Rachio 3rd Generation adjust the watering duration for each zone based on soil, weather, etc.; or is this set by the home owner? I'm curious if the water savings is simply by not watering on windy / rainy days or by adjusting water duration.”

It does both ways. It gives you the recommendation, and you can change it as you feel necessary.

Please try again later.The Rachio sprinkler controller does take into account soil type, vegetation type, slope of yard, amount of sun, time of year, temp, and more to determine how often to water. In addition, there is capability to adjust some advanced settings, if you feel that your yard needs more or less water.
