Yes, the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 glasses do work offline, but only for the basic features. You can take photos and record videos without any internet connection, and you can also listen to music over Bluetooth from your phone. These functions work completely fine with no Wi-Fi or mobile data. However, the advanced features—like the Meta AI voice assistant, smart commands, calling or messaging through the glasses, and syncing your photos and videos to your phone—require an internet connection. The glasses also need Wi-Fi during setup, firmware updates, and when transferring media to your phone through the Meta app. So in short, offline mode is good for capturing moments and playing audio, but anything AI-related or connected to Meta’s services won’t work without data or Wi-Fi.
