• This is the "X" version, and it has the Metal top plate.

• Its actually both. Its open face(x version but the face it does have is metal.

• This is X edition. Razer does not make any metal keyboards. Mechanical keyboards are related to the switches used for the keys. This particular one use the green mechanical switches.
