• Yes, it is. I've been using it for roughly 1 month and around 8 hours per a day and it does not hurt. It comes with a extender to plugh into your audio jack. It has one red and one green one.

• Not sure what you mean by compatible to Desktop, but it'll work with anything that uses a 3.5mm jack.

• I use this headset with a wireless Xbox one controller connected to windows 10 via Xbox controller USB dongle. This setup streams audio from games and the mic works with Xbox chat application. Can also be used with standard plugs although I have not tried that .. compared to my cousin's two hundred dollar set, these seem a bit heavy and tight around the head, but, work great
