“Does the mouse not light up while using the wireless option? I tried looking for answers online but haven't found any information on this. I also checked the manual and didn't see anything about it unless I somehow missed it.”

I have not played with the settings, but I’m using mine wireless and it does light up as long as you are moving it. It won’t light up if the mouse is just sitting there. To preserve battery.
