It's a traditional membrane with with metal spring clips for audible and tactile feedback. Not nearly as loud as a mechanical.Maybe on par with MX Brown switches. Personally I still found it too loud and removed all the metal clips under the keys. Doing so not difficult or affect functionality. Key feedback fine without them. Mainly got this bc it's compact yet full sized. And about the only model with dedicated SLEEP key. And otherwise a good all-purpose typing keyboard. Not just for gamers.
