A:Answer It depends on the manufacturer of your display. Some manufacturers don't include the internal circuitry (Vizio) to just hook up an antenna and watch over the air broadcasts. If you have a TV that doesn't need a convertor box, you just need an antenna. It's important to know how the TV stations in your area broadcast: low VHF, VHF, or UHF; as this effects which kind of antenna you should get. If you live in a large urban area, a general multi-directional antenna should work fine. If you are further out, you should consider an antenna that also has "rabbit ears".
