A:AnswerYes, there is an ac adapter that plugs into a household power Edison outlet. The cable is only 6 feet long so placing the antenna high can be difficult without an extension of some kind. It will receive somewhat without amplification but it is much worse than when it is on.
A:AnswerIf you look up your TV Stations for your zip you’re probably about 30+ miles from the nearest city. If you research it, you can buy an HD Digital Antenna that have up to 100 mile radius.
A:AnswerThere are only 2 cords needed. One is permanently attached to the unit (i.e. the cord that connects to the antenna port on your TV). The other cord is a transformer unit that plugs into your power source. Check the specs on the antenna. You may be able to purchase another transformer unit that will plug into the antenna.
A:AnswerCoaxial cable is not one of those coaxial cables that you can "unscrew" from the antenna. So it is not detachable. It is about 5 1/2 feet long.
A:AnswerGo to this website: https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps
Enter your zip code. A list of stations and the expected signal strength will appear.
Remember: if there are buildings or trees blocking the signal to you, you may not receive a station even though the signal finder says you will
A:AnswerIt's unlikely. I had the same problem when I was close enough to the station for my antenna to work--but it didn't. My local PBS offered what they called Passport access in exchange for the annual membership. So now I stream PBS. While I don't get to watch live, I do get a great selection of shows, both national and local.

A:AnswerYou could. Also mine is not on the window, its about 6 feet away from the window, I just pointed the antennas towards the window and works perfectly
A:AnswerI do not live in Africa, however I believe as long as the City, State or Country has TV towers and you are close enough to pull the signal it should work. The only way you would know if it would work in Africa, is to take a chance. This antenna is positional, so you will probably have to move it around as you are trying to scan for channels. Sorry, I hope this helped.
