No, you do not need cable anymore (and you can't use the cable anymore.) You can plug the antenna directly into your t.v., but I would highly recommend getting a digital converter box along with the antenna. You plug the digital converter box into your tv, and then plug the antenna into the converter box. You get a much clearer and better picture. You can get the digital converter boxes cheap online. Google it first to find out more about it. Good luck!

It comes with a coaxial cable that should hook right to the back of your TV. 
From my personal experience I would recommend a more expensive antennae as this one did not provide me any channels on a consistent reliable basis

Just place near tv cord off Antena plugs to tv and power it up done no need to hook to preexisting coax wiring in home
