Yes you can, its better for the voice i mean if you are a singer, but it works with instruments like guitars or some others with te correct configutarion, if you are recording only instruments or an specific instrument I would recomend to look for some other options based on that instrument,

Please try again later.you can use the rode podmic to record music, but keep In mind that this is an xlr style dynamic microphone and you'll need a decent audio interface or preamp to get a good clean signal into the computer. recording my own vocals on it I found it didn't nee much eq to satisfy myself, and it sounds really good with a compressor like OTT
