Absolutely! I've done this twice, once on my car and once on my wife's SUV. Both times I purchased the camera from somewhere else and purchased the Camera install from bestbuy.com. However, be careful if you're doing a mirror install, the 4-5 installers I've dealt with for various installs will refuse to do a mirror. However, I was allowed to purchase the regular install and mount the mirror monitor myself.

yes, they are happy to do the job for you. I just had a backup camera installed in a vintage Toyota (1996) and they did a professional job. The camera was one purchased from Amazon, their "deal of the day" about 2 years ago and just now getting around to getting it installed.
