Yes, you need to buy battery and charger for a hero 9 or 10, they are bigger and last longer than the older ones.

The 6 and the 9 take different batteries. You need to buy new batteries and charger for the 9.

It won’t fit just like the hero8 before this one it will not fit the 9 but I would def buy it know matter what it’s really good so you should go with this camera and use that 6 you have for your back up camera the things with GoPro they change the style of everything when they come out with a new cameras only things that is the same is some of the 8 stuff that’s it anything lower know!!!

Hi Konstantin, You will need to buy new batteries/charger and accessories for the HERO9. Nothing from older GoPros will fit.

The batteries and most accessories will not work with the go pro hero 9. Congrats on the new go pro

The batteries for the HERO9 Black are a new size and shape, so they will not work with the HERO6 or with the Dual Battery Charger for that model. Likewise, the HERO6 batteries won't work with the HERO9 or the Dual Battery Charger for the HERO9. The USB-C charging cable that you have for your HERO6 will still work with the HERO9 though, so you can use that same cable to charge the batteries in the camera and to power the Dual Battery Chargers.
