Hi Bob, Thanks for your question, All reMarkable devices will receive the latest software updates for free. We carry out our software rollouts gradually over several weeks so that any minor issues or bugs in the new release can be ironed out. This means that not all users will receive the update at the same time. If you’ve enabled automatic updates, it'll automatically update to the latest software once it’s available. /Andreas
