“Is there an option to use this as a regular mirror as week? By that I mean is there a setting that only turns on the display when you put it in reverse and once you go into drive the display turns off and it’s just a regular mirror.”

Yes I actually found that out by accident there's a little button underneath it when you press it it changes the screen from screen to mirror and just turns off the screen while still recording video.
