First of all, cool nickname. My buddy’s nickname is Gumby and I gave him that nickname. Second, yes you can use the camera in a semi truck or any type of vehicle and the rear camera is optional.

It can definitely be used without the rear camera. Not really sure about suitability for a semi though. It would probably be fine though.

Yes, the R4 can be used in a semi-truck with or without the rearview camera.

It should work in any vehicle with a 12 volt cigarette lighter plug and will work without the rear camera.
