Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had their forward and back dashcam for about a year. Texas has the second hottest summer on record and it worked fine with no issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does overheat and turns off but after a while it turns back on but i thought that was normal

This kit has an apparent battery and is probably a lithium battery but documentation on the H W Kit is very poor, as is for the camera. When first turned on after wiring, the battery emitted a vapor. Nothing blew up and the battery seems alright now but if you do the hard wire kit be sure to put the battery in a location that won’t start the car on fire if the battery fails. It is possible that the camera has a lithium battery in it, so keep an eye on possible overheating. Documentation for the camera is very poor and when I’ve called for help - was unavailable, had to do email which is slow. There are a lot of things I’d like to know about camera operation... The easy set up guide will get you to basic operation.

However, for most areas within the US, there should be no problems whatsoever related to the heat. If you want to be safe, on heat warning days, simply move the dashcam into the glove compartment to ensure it is not in direct sunlight.
