• If installed correctly, then it will always be recording when the car is on. Also, it has a "parked" mode where it goes into a stand-by state that minimizes power usage and if it detects a "bump" it will wake up and start recording.

• yes, it will record continuously for 1 min, 2 min or 3 min sections. It will overwrite the oldest video that is not "secured"
