Rexing R88 great dash cam for the money.

I’ve been using Rexing dash cams for over 10 years, and the brand has always stood out for reliability, solid reputation, and excellent customer service. I’ve tried other brands, but Rexing has consistently delivered the best quality-to-price ratio, which is why I keep coming back. The new R88 is no exception—it’s one of the best dual dash cams I’ve owned.
Video quality is the biggest highlight. The Sony STARVIS sensors give me sharp, detailed footage from both the front and rear cameras, day or night. License plates are easy to read, even in low light, and headlights or shadows don’t wash out the image. This is exactly what you want if you’re ever in an accident and need clear evidence.
Features are very well thought out. GPS logging stamps speed, location, and time onto recordings, which is great for both accountability and security. The 5.8GHz Wi-Fi makes transferring video to my phone fast and much more convenient than pulling out the SD card. Parking mode is another strong feature—it provides peace of mind when my car is unattended, though it does require a proper hardwire setup.
Build quality feels solid, as expected from Rexing. The front camera mounts firmly without vibration, and installation was straightforward. The rear camera works well, though I agree with other reviewers that the straight cable plug could be improved—it sticks out more than a right-angle connector would and can be harder to hide under trim.
Performance-wise, the only other limitation is that recording maxes out at 30fps, even though both cameras can do 4K. For normal driving this is fine, but at higher speeds you might notice a little motion blur. Still, for the vast majority of situations, the clarity more than makes up for it.
Price-wise, this isn’t the cheapest dash cam out there, but that’s never been Rexing’s goal. What you get instead is dependability, long-term support, and excellent quality for the price. In my experience, their devices last for years, and if you ever need help, Rexing’s customer service is responsive and easy to work with.
If I could change one thing, it would be the cable design—the rear camera’s left-side connector goes straight in rather than at an upward angle, which makes it harder to hide cleanly under trim. It’s a small detail, but an angled plug would improve cable management.
Bottom line: The R88 is a high-performing, dual 4K dash cam that checks all the boxes—great image quality, useful features, durable build, and reliable support behind it. After a decade of using Rexing, I can confidently say they continue to make some of the best dash cams on the market, and the R88 is one I would recommend without hesitation.

My wife and I have both been using Rexing cameras for at least a decade and have captured multiple accidents caused by other drivers—having that footage was invaluable in proving what really happened. Because of that, I’ll never own a vehicle without a Rexing dash cam installed again. Recently, a police officer we shared footage with noted that the video quality was higher than what their squad car cameras capture and asked me what brand of camera I was using. What a great third-party influence to keep us assured that Rexing remains leader in the dashcam business! In that instance and in many others, I was confident in recommending Rexing as a great dashcam solution. Their cameras are affordable, high-quality, look great installed, and are easy to use.
In the product photos, you’ll notice the power is shown connected through the 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter) with another wire hidden behind the rearview mirror. I chose to hardwire my camera using the included hardwire kit. The Rexing Hardwire Kit included with the camera came with Mini fuse adapters, but my vehicle (2025 Ford Explorer ST) uses Micro2 fuses, so I picked up the Rexing Fuse Tap and Add-a-Circuit Adapter set (includes LP-mini, Mini, and Micro2 blade fuse adapters) for $9.99 from Rexing. After initially setting up the cameras, I couldn’t wait to explore and get them setup, so I used the 12V power outlet until the new adapter was delivered. Once I swapped in the Micro2 adapter, the hardwire kit fit perfectly into my fuse box. I have a multimeter on hand that was helpful selecting the fuses to tap into for the ACC and B+ (constant power) wires. Make sure to select fuses that don’t power safety equipment or critical vehicle systems just in case. I was particularly careful not to tap into anything related to the BlueCruise self drive feature of our vehicle.
Hiding the power wires for each camera was straightforward in our vehicle, fortunately I found a Youtube video detailing how to hide the wires on our vehicle. Adjusting the camera settings was a breeze, really there wasn’t much adjustment needed. One tip—make sure your rear camera isn’t mounted upside down before sticking it to the windshield! I made that mistake initially, but the adhesive came off cleanly with no residue, making detaching and flipping the camera over an easy fix. I’ve included a photo of the orientation of the rear camera when correctly installed. This was in the instructions, but I got a little ahead of myself. Both cameras look great installed on our vehicle. The front camera tucks nicely behind the rearview mirror so it doesn’t interfere with the drivers view of the road. And the rear camera isn’t large enough to interfere with the view out the back at all.
Connecting to the Rexing app over Wi-Fi was seamless, and transferring footage worked flawlessly and much quicker than I anticipated given the 4K quality.
Very happy with this new camera from Rexing, once again they've improved upon an already great product and have done so at a competitive price. Thanks Rexing for keeping an eye on us while on the road for so many years!

Another great Rexing dashcam, this time 4k video both front and rear. Came with 128 GB microSD card. Also a Smart Hardwire Kit is included, which I've not installed yet, but considering installing it. Removed my old dashcam, and installed the new one in about 30 minutes. You can playback the recordings on the nice display, or a computer/device that takes the SD card. You can also turn on it's WIFI and view recordings from another device this way.

Premium Dashcam – Touchscreen & Dual 4k Recording

I recently bought the Rexing R88 Dashcam and installed it in my 2018 Honda CR-V. If you’ve worked with dashcams before, the setup process is straightforward. Rexing includes everything you need right in the box, including adhesive for mounting it to the windshield. I always make sure to clean the surface first before sticking the camera on, just to ensure it holds securely.
Turning on the unit, I’m quite impressed by how easy it is to use and how sharp the video quality is. I’ve owned several other 2K and 4K dashcams over the years, but the R88 easily delivers the clearest 4K footage I’ve seen, especially at night. The quality is so good that I can read the license plate numbers of other cars clearly, which is incredibly helpful if I should need it.
The built-in GPS is another great feature, automatically showing your location right in the video. My family and I often take our dashcam along on vacations to record our drives in rental cars, so having that GPS data built in makes those recordings even more enjoyable and useful.
The Wi-Fi connection works great, and I can easily control the dashcam or access it through my phone, which is super convenient. I can download videos straight to my phone without having to remove the Micro SD card and risk zapping it.
Good bundle value. The inclusion of a hard-wire kit and a Micro Sd Card means you don’t have to buy as many accessories separately. I plan to buy a higher capacity Micro SD card but the inclusion of one is nice. I plan to hard-wire the dashcam when I get the time so I can take advantage of the parking monitor.
When I installed the rear camera, I accidentally installed the camera upside down. If there was one thing I could complain about is that the software should include the ability to flip the rear camera by 180 degrees. This would be useful.
Other than this I highly recommend the Rexing R88. It’s an excellent choice for drivers who want top-quality video quality are willing to put in the installation effort. In my opinion, this is the best Dashcam you can get for under $400 and its worth it.

Rexing really came out swinging with this one.
The image quality is absolutely phenominal
Install is pretty straight forward, with options for both a 12v outlet and a hardwired (with battery protection) switch for parking mode.
I'm also quite happy to see the standardization of Type C on all the camera connectors
Once up and running... It just works. I set my time zone, then the unit automatically synchronizes the clock. The main screen is visible in daylight, with meaningful screen-off or screen-saver options if I don't want to see the live feed.
It's also super easy to save clips of interesting happenings by pressing the 'lock' icon on the screen to make sure that doesn't get over written.
The wifi connectivity and app is a nice touch too. No more digging my card reader out of the desk drawer and fiddling with the SD card to share something. I can just download it right at the car!
Night time performance on this is fantastic as well. If I can see it with my eyes, the camera will catch it as well!

Great Front/Rear Dash Camera Setup

Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I have checked out a number of Rexing dash cams over the past few years to upgrade my own and set my wife up. For a front and rear camera setup, I think this one is the best they have. Both cameras are 4K and the videos do look good with a nice widescreen view, though videos are still locked to 30fps.
A MicroSD card is included, but a larger card is always better so the videos are retained longer before they are written over again.
The kit comes with two options for powering the devices: a car adaptor and Hardware kit for wiring to the fuse box. Both work fine, but for a cleaner finish, use the hardware kit. Installing the dash camera with the hardware kit isn't too bad if you are handy, but for $99, Best Buy will do it for you. That's what I did last time.
My only real complaint is a small one about the rear camera cable. The power cables have a right angle plug so it can pass up to the front headliner relatively cleanly...but the cable for the rear camera is straight and juts out quite a bit. I am surprised Rexing did not catch this.
This certainly feels like a premium setup from Rexing.

Really impressed with this Rexing new dash cam R88 so far. Both cameras record in full 4K (4096 × 2160), and the Sony STARVIS sensors make a huge difference in low light, night footage looks surprisingly clear. The 170° wide field of view captures a lot of detail around the car, and I like that it supports loop recording in 1, 2, or 3 minute intervals. The 4-inch screen (960 × 240 resolution) is easy to navigate, and transferring clips over the 5.8GHz built-in Wi-Fi to my iPhone is quick. GPS logging works flawlessly, showing both speed and route history. Setup was simple with the suction mount, and the G-sensor automatically locks clips when there’s sudden movement or an impact. I also like that it supports expandable storage with a microSD card, so I never have to worry about running out of space. Definitely a solid, feature-packed dash cam for the price.

The Rexing R88 - Top-Tier Tech Without the Premium

If you're in the market for a dash cam, you know the choices can be overwhelming. You can either spend a fortune on a big-name brand or risk it with a cheap, unreliable model. The Rexing R88 completely shatters that dilemma. This is, without a doubt, the best bang for your buck in the dash cam world today.
What immediately sets the R88 apart is its integration of advanced technology that you typically only find in models costing twice as much. The video quality is stunningly crisp—whether it's brilliant 4K for the front camera or the clear HD of the rear and cabin cameras. This isn't just about recording a drive; it's about capturing license plates, road signs, and crucial details with absolute clarity, day or night. The infrared interior camera is especially impressive, providing a perfectly clear view of the cabin in complete darkness, which is a must-have for rideshare drivers or anyone wanting total vehicle security. Add in built-in GPS for logging your route and speed, and Wi-Fi for instantly downloading clips to your phone, and you have a truly future-proof device.
I was expecting the usual hassle of running wires and complicated menus, but I had the Rexing R88 unboxed and fully operational in under 20 minutes. The instructions are straightforward, and the provided trim tool makes hiding the long cables a breeze for a clean, professional-looking install. The camera mounts securely to the windshield and is surprisingly discreet. It's a true "set it and forget it" system that gives you peace of mind from the moment you start your car.
This is where the Rexing R88 truly excels. It packs a premium feature set into an incredibly affordable package. You get the multi-channel recording, high-resolution video, GPS, Wi-Fi, and a robust parking mode that automatically records any bumps or motion when you're away from your vehicle. When you compare its specs to the competition, you realize you're getting a top-tier experience for an entry-level price.
If you're looking for a reliable, feature-rich, and easy-to-install dash cam that delivers incredible value, stop searching. The Rexing R88 is the one to buy. Highly recommended!

A true 4k front AND rear dash cam!

I finally pulled the trigger on the Rexing R88 because my old dash cam was just blurry junk, especially at night. This isn't the cheapest camera out there, but the main selling point for me was simple, a true 4K video recording from both the front and the back. I figured if I ever get into an accident, I don't want to mess around with video evidence that's too grainy to read a license plate. Honestly, the picture quality is worth the price tag. The only real downside for the average user is the installation, but that’s true for any dual dash cam. The front camera itself is easy, it uses a sticky mount, which keeps it rock-solid and discreet behind the rearview mirror. The most hardest part is running the cables. You have a long cable that needs to run from the front camera, all the way along the roof liner and down the side pillars, and then to the rear camera on the back window. Rexing includes the tools to tuck the cables, but it still takes patience and effort to make it look clean. If you are looking for the absolute best quality video you can get, especially at night, and you want that critical 4K coverage both front and back, the Rexing R88 is fantastic. It's built tough for all weather, and the Wi-Fi feature makes retrieving videos simple. Just be prepared: it's a premium product with a premium price, and to get all the benefits (like 24/7 parking security), you’ll either be spending an afternoon on cable management or paying for professional installation. I recommend this dash cam if your priority is video clarity and durability over a budget price.

If you are looking for a dashcam that has 4k dual channel inputs, then may I suggest the Rexing R88 dashcam. This is a fantastic looking device with a nice touch screen, great resolution and plenty of features. This camera boasts 4k resolution for the front camera and the rear camera. All connections on this camera are USB Type-C and it can take up to a 256GB Micro SD card, and you are given a 128GB Micro SD card to get you started, and it is enough to get you started and record a few days’ worth of driving, which for me is plenty. The camera’s record at a solid 30 fps which is not the greatest, but it still leaves plenty of clarity for the video that it records and the Sony STARVIS sensors deliver sharp images and I found it to be pretty good even in low light conditions, however, I did find that reading license plates could be a challenge in those conditions. The built in GPS feature is great and it can record your speed, location, and time on your videos. A hardwire kit is included in this Best Buy package (as well as the 128GB Micro SD card) and this will allow you to enable parking mode, and you can get recorded videos if you have something impacts your car. Rexing customer support is fantastic, and I have a few of their dashcams and I had one that went bad, and I was able to take advantage of their 18 Month extended warranty and they were very responsive and seem to truly care about its customers.
There are a few downsides to this dashcam though, the first being the USB C connector for the rear camera, a straight connector is used so this may prevent a clean install in some cases. I have not tried this, but I think you should be able to source a right-angle cable to use in its place if that is what you desire. Second is the price of this camera, it is not an entry level camera, and the price shows it. To me it is well worth the quality and the features that you get with this package. The last drawback for this would be the Rexing Connect Android app. You have to turn on the Wi-Fi of the camera to connect to your phone to download videos and get a live feed. I hope in the future they find a way to connect to your phone w/o having to turn on Wi-Fi first. Overall I found this to be a very solid package and system to help protect you from the wild west that is out there in the driving world.

This is such a great front/rear camera bundle. It has everything I need for a full car setup including a hardwire kit in addition to the cig adapter for power. In the past, I've always had to purchase separate hardwire kits to have a clean professional install in my vehicles. Such a great package to include it with this kit.
I've had dash cams in all of my vehicles for over a decade. In the past 2 years, I've had a couple accidents that were not my fault and each time the dash cam footage has made the insurance claims process easy. The image quality is important to catch license plate and details of the accident. Fortunately those were daytime accidents so my prior dash cam footage was sufficient. However, nighttime footage would have been lacking. The Starvis technology on this camera substantially improves nighttime image quality.

I was looking to upgrade my V1PGW from 2022 (I also still have 2 V1P and a V1) and have never used anything but Rexing. These cams have paid for themselves several times over in a few sideswipes and fender benders. The other drivers ALWAYS lie. Rexings do not. Anyway, aside from the other great features, I was mostly interested in the speed of the wifi as the other cameras either didn't have wifi connectivity or it was slow. Video ilooks great, the included wiring kit and sd card are a bonus, and the profile fits my windshield area better than the V1 style.

I and my family members have owned several Rexing cameras through out the years. I decided to buy this version for my teenage daughter as I wanted to have extra protection in case of accidents or anything. The quality is really good, took some time to install (wires are a bit hard for me LOL). So far I am satisfied with everything, especially that there was a memory card and I don't have to spend extra. My daughter is a fan of the touch screen, says it's easier that way, but I would prefer button. I would love for the cost to be a little bit less though, but everything is expensive nowadays anyway.

This is a major step forward for Rexing. I've been a satisfied customer for years, but this model is a significant upgrade from other models they have produced.
Plusses:
Solid construction - The unit feels significant. There are no rattles, and no squeaks.
Easy to control - The large touch screen is responsive, and the menu system is intuitive. There are no buttons to maneuver.
Image quality - The image quality is crisp and clear in daylight or at night. Close license plates are easy to read, but, as with most dash cams, they get blurry as your distance grows.
Hardwire kit - This includes the hardwire kit and the 12v lighter wiring kit. I appreciate the options, and opted to hard-wire my unit.
WiFi - The camera works seamlessly with the RexingConnect app (which I had from previous dash cams).
GPS - I appreciate not having to add a separate GPS unit to the cam. The internal GPS works quickly and accurately.
SD Card Included - Including an SD card is a nice touch that Rexing has done with certain models in the past. This one is no exception.

The Rexing R88 Front + Rear Camera kit from Best Buy is the one to get! This bundle includes both a hardwire kit ($25-$40 value) and a 128gb High Endurance MicroSD card ($30-$40 value) that is not available from other retailers. It also includes a regular cigarette adapter if you do not or cannot hardwire install.
This goes on sale for $300 and at that price is a very good bargain. This is the sweet spot for a mainstream dual camera system. Any cheaper and you give up things like image quality and reliability. If you want much better, be prepared to spend 2x for only a 10-20% improvement.
I've been using Rexing cameras for 5+ years and have yet to have one fail. They post firmware upgrades regularly and their customer service is responsive.
This kit will work well for most people and most vehicles.
Make sure to register with Rexing to extend your warranty from 12 months to 18 months!

I have Rexing in both of my cars now. I love the app and being able to upload to my camera when I want while still having the removeable sd card. You can record in 1,2 or 3 min intervals but I'd recommend the 3 min which will make your sd card last longer..especially recording in 4k...it has 170 degree field view which helps to record traffic on both sides in front of the vehicle for those occassions when people run lights or run through parking lots like happened to my wife...I also really like hte gps so that there is no question where you are and how fast you are going...there are 2 ways to install and I prefer the cigarette lighter install but the other would be easy as well... has a g sensor to auto record and lock recordings...love that...the Starvis that they tout is for low light recording which I havent really explored to see how much of a difference it makes...but clearly it helps...the touch screen is quite small as I show in the pics which makes the dashcam really low profile... I really like rexing and the app makes it so easy to use ...I'd recommend any rexing dash cam...took me about 30 min to install both the front and rear cameras and set up the app

I had a much older model of Rexing dash cam before I upgraded to the R88, and the picture quality is much better. The installation was fairly easy except the cable from the USB-C to the charging module was barely long enough to hide behind one of the trim panels. The G-sensor works great and notifies you when you get back in the vehicle if there are locked videos to review.
