“Does the back up camera have to be wired to the tail light?”

• Hi Dash cam are not intended to use as back up cam. The USB ports for the cams are easily installed at the large screen cam. No need to wire it in the tail gate lights because it’s function is constantly video when the power is on. I hope this helps. v/r Fernando

• No. The wiring either runs through your fuse box or 12v auto adapter. Mine came with both. It just depends on if you want to run it in the parking mode or just while the car is running. In almost any vehicle it is easy to hide the power wire and rear camera wire as the give you enough length of both. It's a good investment.
