• Update your firmware, December 2018 update came out with Park Mode that does just that.

• Mine is wired to one of fuse and also I leave it on, so it records 24/7 even when the car is off.

• Yes. Make sure it has continuous power whether it be from the cigarette lighter cord or hardwire kit. Put the sensitivity to high.

• Possibly, but it's not really designed for that. There is no motion sensor to turn it on/off, and you would need to find a way to feed it power all night, the battery is only good for a few minutes.
