• Yes, the camera will record by itself and does not need access to Apple CarPlay. The camera records onto a MicroSD card and if you want to view files, once you are parked, you can view the files via WiFi on the Rexing Connect app or you can remove the MicroSD card and view on a laptop/computer. There is no need to ever use CarPlay with the camera. We have this unit and CarPlay and have never had a problem.
