It would have to do with power supply and demand ( hard wired may only be to key and not continuous power supply) ,,, the cam has a power supply built inside ( Capacitor ) and as the cam receives power from the vehicle, it fills the power like cell up,,,, once this power cell runs down ( say after turning the vehicle off and no continue power is supplied ) and it will eventually but how ever some times it still has power left in it enough so then the cam it notices the power coming in - it will fire right up and work ,,, If the cams power supply is dwindled down to zilch, the cam wont recognize the power coming to it and not turn on and then you have to manually start it up again. The cam is basically like a cell phone- leave it on long enough ,, it needs recharged because it goes dead but the on board capacitor (Battery) charges back up and works at the same time. It may of been hard wired to the switched power and would explain cam still working after shutting off key but latter not working. Hope I have been able to help some.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If it’s hardwired & shuts off when you turn your car off, then it was hooked to a fuse that doesn’t have continuous power which means when you shut your vehicle off, your cam goes off too. Look at your fuse panel for a 15amp fuse that has power when the vehicle is off. Most likely a brake light. That’s what I did when I self installed mine. Works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Have not had mine installed yet. Will be hardwired by BeatBuy on 3/4. Had the V1P costing $179 installed there and it works as it is suppose to automatically going on when the ignition is on and going off when it is switched off. No problems noticed so far. FYI , Rexing tells you NOT to use the Sandusky Ultra SD card. They recommend a Kingston Canvas Select SD card. ( don’t know why BestBuy has a lifetime warranty with their installation. Chris At the Manchester NH store is very knowleable regarding the installation. He appears to know his stuff. Why not call him. i’m Sure he will have your answer to your problem. Tell him John with the two Toyota’s suggested you talk to him.as a result of recently having work done there by him. Hope this reply helps you out. Good luck
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had that issue when using a cheap ad card while I was downloading few videos off my class 10 card. Try getting a quality ad card class 10 or better. If you have a class 10 card then I don't know what the issue may be. Good luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Likely related to the power supply or the capacitor. I would return it and get another.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine is also hard wired and I am not having this problem. I would go back to the installer to search for a loose connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
