The V3 doesn't support a rear camera attachment and therefore can not be used as a backup camera. It supports parking monitor by installing the smart hardwire kit. The WIFI capability allows you to access the files when you are in close proximity of the camera. When something happens while you are away from the camera, you will not be notified in real time.
