Hi asuchemist, The inline mute function on the RIG 400HX is independent of the source - the mute function cuts the audio within the headset cable. What the cable is plugged into can’t affect whether mute is enabled/disabled. If it’s not working, then the switch is faulty. If this is within Best Buy's return policy, please return it for a replacement. If it is outside of Best Buy's return policy and within one year of original purchase, we can provide a warranty replacement.
