• Hi RonP. We appreciate the time you have taken to ask this question. The Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam should be placed on a level surface with 6.5 inches of space in every direction. To get proper motion detection, cameras should not be placed facing a window or in front of a glass door. If installed facing a window, the camera may have a hard time detecting motion and you may get distorted images at night.
