These must be used with the Ring alarm system. As long as they are in range of the base station, the phone has no impact on distance.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Are you trying to power the base station from your 12v battery? Or the contact sensors? Your question comes up under the sensors which are already battery powered on their own. The base station plugs into a standard wall outlet. The keypad plugs into mini usb but holds a charge for several months. The distance of the sensors is based on the base station. Not your phone.

Please try again later.You’d still need the Ring alarm and the actual sensors have batteries so no need to wire up (they’re 100% wireless)Just mount / stick and pair with your Ring alarm. I have a 3000 sq ft house and the ring alarm with one z wave extender that picks up all 2 floors and the basement. I have several of these for my doors and windows with zero issues on range.
