Yes there is a built in alarm. I believe it is advertised at 104db. It is very loud and definitely serves it’s purpose. Everything IS wireless except the base. The instructions say to plug in the keypads but they work wirelessly too. We have ours wireless and I turned off the power save mode, that way when they detect motion on their little sensors it briefly lights up the buttons. Not sure how long the battery life will be, but I imagine it will be several months at least.

It's pretty loud, but maybe not loud enough to hear from a busy street if the house/windows are closed up. Add-on sirens are supposed to come later so you could enhance this. All fully wireless, except for the base and the Range Extender (which probably doesn't really count because it just plugs into an outlet and sits there... no dangling wires).
