each component is in itself a complete system that resides through the internet. I have two Ring doorbells, two Ring area video cams, and four Ring chimes. You pay a monthly subscription for the video recording.

May I suggest spending a little more and getting the solar panels which will run the outdoor cameras so that you do not need to be changing batteries. The doorbell does not come with a solar panel, but I suggest buying an extra battery to switch out so one can be charging while the other is working..
