Do you need to purchase a chime with this model? null

We did, but you don't have to have it if you carry your phone with you. I don't carry my phone around the house with me, so the chime is important to me.

If you do not have an existing doorbell system, a Ring Chime can be purchased and connected through the Ring app, and you'll be able to get real-time Ring device notifications anywhere in your home, even if you're not near your phone.
