Hello You have an option to let it stay on or off. You control it through the app. If set up on your phone it will say a person is at front door. You control the perimeters. You can even set it to only notify you when people or near instead of cars. You won’t be disappointed. I’ve had mine over a year and I love it. I preferred it over the doorbell because of the LED lights that lit up my whole front yard.
