  • QuestionIs this a motion detector system that only turns on when it senses movement? As opposed to staying on all night?

    Asked by Mimi.

    • Answer Hello You have an option to let it stay on or off. You control it through the app. If set up on your phone it will say a person is at front door. You control the perimeters. You can even set it to only notify you when people or near instead of cars. You won’t be disappointed. I’ve had mine over a year and I love it. I preferred it over the doorbell because of the LED lights that lit up my whole front yard.

  • QuestionCan you attach this camera to the Ring solar panel? I want the flood light option, but I don't have electrical where I want to place it.

    Asked by Lilo9169.

    • Answer Hi Lilo9169, To piggyback on the previous answer given by the community member below; no, we do not presently have a solar solution for hardwired devices such as the Ring Floodlight Cam. While each of our hardwired solutions require specific amperage to function, the Ring Floodlight Cam requires between 110-240 VAC to operate. We can appreciate the value of this question, as It's important to consider solutions to continue to power your device if there is no power. However, we do feel it is important to note that without a source of power from the home, there is likely to not be wifi available either. Your experience with Ring is impactful on our future as a company, and we would love to hear from you directly on our Ring Community forum. If you have any experiences to share, questions regarding Ring and our services, or any feedback and product suggestions, we encourage you to have your voice be heard: https://community.ring.com/! • Answer Yes, go into the store or call 1-800-433-5778 and they can set this up for you. Some states require a security installer license which your local Geek Squad may not have. If this is the case, they may send a 3rd-party installer.
