“I have other ring camera in other location of my house.if i purchased a chime to hear outside my door or window do i need to buy a camera also”

Whatever you are trying to put that chime you have to have a ring device there to make it go off

Once connected, your Ring Chime will work anywhere it has a wifi connection. When plugged into a standard wall socket, the Chime produces an audio signal whenever you receive an alert from a Ring device for motion alerts or doorbell announcements.
