• It should work anywhere in your house. The ring chime connects through your router and is controlled by your cell phone. The router is the brain, as long as you have a good router, you shouldn't have a problem.

• The chime connects to the internet through Wi-Fi so I don't think it matters as long as it's on the same network. Ours is behind 2 walls but close to the wireless modem.
