QuestionConsidering the Ring - Floodlight Cam for my backyard. I would hard wire it to the existing back porch light fixture that is about 7' off the ground. I read that it is suggested to mount it at the height of 9'. Will this be a problem?

QuestionIs it possible to not have the lights go on but still be able to view the night vision on phone. So we still wish to be able to see at night but if light does go on our dogs will alert and start barking. So just wanted to know if we can adjust the time

- Answer You can set the scheduler to not turn them I would think. You can also reduce the motion detection for the lights to its minimum amount.

- Answer I have not hooked mine up to Google Home, but I believe it does some very basic commands, but they seem like they may be just easier to do with the Ring App. I am actually going to be setting mine up to the Echo Show, which apparently you can then pull up a live feed on the Echo Show device. But according to Google, the following commands are currently available for Ring: Talk to Ring" "At Ring turn on motion alerts" "Talk to Ring about starting a new recording" "Talk to Ring about the health of my devices" "Talk to Ring about the last time my Doorbell rang" Hope that helps.

QuestionWhy in the world will this not work with windows 7 when EVERY other system I can find does??? 7 of my friends would like to have this camera system but all still use windows 7...I see hundreds of the same complaint on internet...don't mind losing sales?

- Answer Are you sure it is windows and not your upload speed? I could not get mine to work and they told me my upload speed is not supported. I called several ISP providers and they do not support upload speeds RING requires. So mine can not be used.

QuestionDebating between two locations on my house - for one I can wire and mount it at 9' feet, but the other location I couldn't go lower than probably 10'6". I like the second location more. How does this deviation from recommendation impact performance?

- Answer We have ours mounted at about 9.5 to 10 feet, we don't have any problems with it.

QuestionI have built a house in the country which I plan to sell, so I will only have electricity and no Internet. Will the flood light component work without a wifi set up? The new owner would get Internet service later. I just want to scare vandals.

- Answer Yes the motion detection is wonderful. Using the ring app it allows you to adjust how far or how close you want it to work.

- Answer Flood light bulbs are not replaceable. They are built in LED lights which should last a long time.

If so, you do not need to go to the Ring website in order to download your Ring Videos, you should be able to just long into your Ring App and download from there. - Answer When i turn motion detection off and lights off. The light still turns on no matter what. Sometimes i want to be outside at night without the flood light coming on. The only way i found to make it stay off is to kill the power to the ring device. The lights will not stay off no matter what buttons you turn off or on in the app.
